Dragon Nest: Action-Packed MMORPG

I've tried a few MMOPRGs lately (Flyff, ROSE Online, Cabal, and my favorite, Ragnarok Online) and I'm a bit picky when it comes to online games (graphics, gameplay, etc.), but when my friend told me about "Dragon Nest" I easily got hooked!

For starters like me,

Dragon Nest is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG developed by Eyedentity Games. It uses a non-targeting combat system ensuring that players have complete control over every single one of their character's movements. Dragon Nest requires users to advance their characters by teaming up and traveling into instanced dungeons. (Wikipedia)

Like most online games Dragon Nest starts by letting you choose between four basic classes (at the moment) - Archer, Cleric, Sorceress, and Warrior and each class if leveled up to 15 lets you change your job. The level cap (at the time that I wrote this) is 24 but future updates show that it will be lvl. 50 with new 2nd jobs to boot.

Cleric, Warrior, Sorceress, Archer

One thing I've noticed on Dragon Nest was you can't pick the gender of your character. Clerics and Warriors are Male and Archers and Sorceresses are Females. Besides it being ridiculous having a male character with a Sorceress class, I guess the point of the makers for not letting you change the gender is that Dragon Nest follows a unique storyline which you will have in the game as a quest.

Dragon Nest has awesome graphics, and gameplay and also has lots of features.

The SEA server is good, but I think it's still in open beta. Idk.
I may put some screens here if I get the chance.

10 Things You May Not Know About Coke

Just when you thought you knew everything about Coca-Cola, you're wrong! Yep. Not only it refreshes you Coca-Cola can be used in a lot of things. After reading this it might be useful if you manage to stack up a bunch of them on your kitchen cabinets and even at the bathroom!

1. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

2. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola int the toilet bowl and let it sit for about an hour or so, then flush the toilet clean.

3. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5.To clean corrosion from a car battery terminal: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coke to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coke will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean read haze from your windshield.

8.The active ingredient is Coca-Cola is phosphoric acid. Its PH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.

9. To carry Coke syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly Corrosive materials.

10. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean engines of their trucks for about 20 years.

Now is this disturbingly awesome or what!? Well despite what it can do, Coke is still harmless because the acids contained in Coke is relatively small.

The study triggered frightening headlines such as, "Study findsFacebook goofing hurts grades," "Study says Facebook can impactstudies" and "Research finds the website is damaging students'academic performance.

College students who have defriended Facebook after news broke of a linkbetween the social-network site and lower grades, or younger users whoseparents have made them, can rest easy.

The grade numbers arise from a study that is preliminary -- so much sothat it cries out for further study even more than many other pilotexperiments.

Facebook may well distract and delay but there is far from enoughnumerical evidence to support that claim, notwithstanding hundreds ofinternational headlines to the contrary. This isn't the first time technologyhas been buried or praised too quickly.A 2005 test of a handful of volunteers' ability to solve problems whiletheir cellphones and email programs were flashing gave rise to headlines thatthese technologies lowered IQs more than marijuana usage.

And just this month,an Australian study found that workers who use Facebook and other no work Websites are more productive, but didn't show that one caused the other. These latest headlines originated with a survey last year of New EraUniversity undergraduates and graduate students.

You may have watched him on Youtube or listened to his music, but either way Mike Tompkins' music fills the air with awesomeness. Using only his own voice and mouth!

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada during the historic tornado on July 31st, 1987, life for Mike Tompkins has been punctuated by memorable events, the most recent of which includes being rocketed to notoriety mixing his talents to create music using only his voice and mouth.

Mike’s novel ‘A Capella’ music has stemmed from over a decade of demanding and diverse musical and production pursuits, starting with beatboxing at the young age of 8.

From musical theatre production in highschool, to production, engineering and mixing of numerous albums (Juno award winning artist Shad K’s “The Old Prince”) during post-secondary education at the industry renowned Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology, Mike’s resume now includes collaboration as a producer and writer with Timbaland on his most recent Shock Value 3 album set for release in 2011.

To my surprise my Dad bought me this... A Samsung Galaxy S II!! I thought we would buy a simple phone to bring to school with (just to replace my current "phone" Samsung Galaxy Tab w/c is really bulky to bring at school). While it's still new I decided to point-out some of its features.

The Samsung Galaxy S 2 is crowned the King of Smartphones because of its amazing features, Dual Core processors, 8MP AF camera, 2MP front cam, Full HD (1080p) Record and Playback, and Super AMOLED Plus just to name a few.

The Black box is really sophisticated looking.

The phone includes a Quick start guide, AC charger, USB connector, Headset and a couple pair of ear buds.

The phone has an 8MP rear camera which I'm planning as my main cam until I save up for a decent DSLR cam. The images here in this post were shot using Galaxy S2.

Video recording and playback features in the phone are great (sample below).The quality may be different when uploaded (should have uploaded in youtube instead). I'll manage to add some videos at daylight.

As for battery life, Samsung told me it would take 1 to 1 1/2 days until recharging, and 3-4 hours at full charge. But I have to test it out to make sure.

I always manage to read comments, check my blog, look for pictures, and to be entertained... read web-comics. There are hundreds of webcomics out there on the net but I've managed to take it down to just 32 (why 32 you ask? its nothing really, just to have a different number other than 10 or something.)

Here's my list of webcomics (in no particular order) and I'll throw in some facts about them.

Cyanide and Happiness:

Cyanide and Happiness began as a small series of comics drawn by Kris Wilson at the age of 16. One day while at his home suffering from strep throat, Kris entertained himself by drawing comics by hand, and would later move on to drawing them on his computer. Kris created his own website called Comicazi, that allowed him to showcase his comics to others. Kris shared his comics with the forum of Sticksuicide.com.

xkcd :

The comic began in September 2005 when Munroe decided to scan doodles from his school notebooks and put them on his webpage. He currently "works on the comic full time" making xkcd a self-sufficient webcomic. According to Munroe, the comic's name has no particular significance and is simply a four-letter word without a phonetic pronunciation, something he describes as "a treasured and carefully guarded point in the space of four-character strings." The name of the comic is spelled in all lowercase letters, or all capitals.

Ctrl + Alt + Del :

Ctrl+Alt+Del (abbreviated CAD) is a gaming-related webcomic and animated series written by Tim Buckley. The name of the comic refers to the Windows command Control-Alt-Delete. It premiered on October 23, 2002, and is currently updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The comic's focus has gradually shifted away from single strip gags towards longer story arcs and greater continuity.

Pajama Forest:

Pajama Forest is a twice weekly (Monday/Thursday) comic strip that follows the awesomely imaginative adventures of dude named August and his little brother Ed. Every once in a while Pajama Forest features "Semi-True Tales" of the lives of Evan (the cartoonist) and his wife.

Rooster Teeth:

In 2006, Rooster Teeth Productions formed its own webcomic series, Rooster Teeth Comics. The strip satires the staff members in their regular daily lives, although often pushing each member's personality to the extreme for comedic effect.

The Joy of Tech:

Joy of Tech is a webcomic created by Nitrozac and Snaggy, whose real names are Liza Schmalcel and Bruce Evans. Both are Canadians. The comic, which is produced three times a week, concentrates on technology-oriented themes, with an emphasis on the "cult" of Apple Computer products.

Dinosaur Comics:

Dinosaur Comics is a constrained webcomic by Canadian writer Ryan North. It is also known as "Qwantz", after the site's domain name, "qwantz.com". The first comic was posted on 1 February 2003, though there were earlier prototypes. Dinosaur Comics has also been printed in two collections and in a number of newspapers.

Sinfest:

Sinfest is a webcomic written and drawn by Japanese-American comic strip artist Tatsuya Ishida. The first strip appeared on January 17, 2000. A new strip is published daily on the Sinfest website. On July 9, 2006, the Sinfest website underwent a redesign, and became self-published, no longer a member of Keenspot.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal:

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal is a webcomic by Zach Weiner. Like most one-off comics, there are few recurring characters. The humor often comes from leading the reader to think they understand the situation when they look at the picture, but then throwing them off with a punchline-esque caption underneath.

Mega Tokyo:

Set in a fictional version of Tokyo, Megatokyo portrays the adventures of Piro, a young fan of anime and manga, and his friend Largo, an American video game enthusiast. The comic often parodies and comments on the archetypes and clichés of anime, manga, dating sims, arcade and video games, occasionally making direct references to real-world works.

Penny Arcade:

Penny Arcade is among the most popular and longest running gaming webcomics currently online. Holkins and Krahulik are among the few and first webcomic creators successful enough to make a living from their work. In addition to the comic, Holkins and Krahulik also created Child's Play, a children's charity, and PAX, an annual gaming convention.

Questionable Content:

Questionable Content (abbreviated QC) is a slice-of-life webcomic written and drawn by Jeph Jacques. It was launched on August 1, 2003; the 1600th strip was posted on February 12, 2010.

8-bit Theater:

8-Bit Theater is a sprite comic created and launched by Brian Clevinger which was published in 1224 episodes from March 2, 2001 to March 20, 2010. One of the most popular web comics, it won the Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards for best fantasy comic in 2002.

Order of the Stick:

The Order of the Stick began its run on September 30, 2003 on what was (at the time) Rich Burlew's personal site for gaming articles. Initially, the strip was intended to feature no plot whatsoever-depicting an endless series of gags drawn from the D&D rules instead-but Burlew quickly changed his mind, laying down the earliest hints of a storyline as early as strip #13.

PvP:

PvP, also known as Player vs Player, is a webcomic, written and drawn by Scott Kurtz, with around 100,000 unique visitors per day as of August 2005. On February 1, 2007, it became the subject of its own animated series.

Frenetic Funnies:

The Gag Cartoon Series by Jeff Swenson. 8 years running on the worldwide web. Frenetic Funnies means fast laughs.

Girl Genius:

Girl Genius is an ongoing comic book series turned webcomic, written and drawn by Phil and Kaja Foglio and published by their company, Studio Foglio LLC under the imprint Airship Entertainment. The comic has won five WCCA awards including 2008 Outstanding Comic, and been nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist, an Eagle Award and twice for an Eisner Award; in 2009 it won the Hugo for best graphic story.

Garfield minus Garfield:

Garfield Minus Garfield is a webcomic created by Dan Walsh, which received considerable attention during 2008. Each strip consists of a reprint of a past episode from the comic strip Garfield, from which the character of Garfield himself has been removed through photo manipulation. Though Walsh admits that he was not the first to come up with this idea, he was the first to "champion and popularize" it.

Red Meat:

Max Cannon's Red Meat is an independent comic strip begun in 1989. It appears in over 75 alternative weeklies and college papers in the United States and in other countries. Since 1996, it has been available for reading on the web.

Kevin and Kell:

Kevin and Kell is a furry comedy webcomic strip by syndicated cartoonist Bill Holbrook. The strip began on September 3, 1995. It is one of the oldest continuously running webcomics.

Married to the Sea:

Married to the Sea is a webcomic by husband and wife Drew and Natalie Dee. Each has a personal webcomic project: Drew is also the author of Toothpaste for Dinner and Natalie Dee produces NatalieDee.

Copper:

Copper is a comic strip by Kazu Kibuishi that has enjoyed both webcomic and print appearances. The web comic began in April 2002 in a much larger than usual square format. Except for the first strip, the comic is in color. The large format may account in part for the slow schedule - updates occur monthly at best. The comic went on a brief hiatus at the end of 2004 but resumed in March 2005. Each page tells a self-contained story, but there are a few recurring characters. Copper was named one of the best webcomics of 2004 by The Webcomics Examiner.

Creased Comics:

Brad Neely is a comic book artist from Fort Smith, Arkansas who now resides in Los Angeles, California. Neely attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Achewood is a webcomic created by Chris Onstad in 2001. It portrays the lives of a group of anthropomorphic stuffed toys, robots, and pets. Many of the characters live together in the home of their owner, Chris, at the fictional address of 62 Achewood Court. Another address used in the strip is 11 Via Verde, the home of main character Ray.

Floodworks:

Floodworks is a collective venture between four artists: Adam Rosenlund, an accomplished artist in just about any medium you care to mention. Ethan Ede, writer. Adam Bennett, burgeoning film maker and 3D artist. Dillon Woods, coder.

Bunny:

Bunny is a daily webcomic by Lem, the pseudonym of a Welsh artist named Huw Davies. Launched in August 2004, Bunny follows the gag-a-day formula, with no true plotline. The subject matter of Bunny varies widely (with topics ranging from popular Internet culture, to current events to rabbit ninjas), but usually portrays the pink bunny protagonist's uncomplicated take on a given situation.

Vice Ganda and Tado on Showtime

An unexpected incident happened when Vice Ganda and Tado Jimenez two judges of the famous TV show, "Showtime", exchanged heated words to each other when Tado made a remark on the performance of the contestants as 'pang-gay' (gayish).

The said incident escalated as Tado shows his T-shirt that says "Di bale na ang magnakaw kesa mamakla" (I'd rather steal than to f*c* gays). Vice ganda then fired a remark about Tado's candidacy on Marikina:

Vice: oo hindi ka nanalo…ngayon alam namin kung bakit…ang dami ko kaibigan bakla kumandidato nanalo.

The two judges then apologized to the audience for the misunderstanding. They probably learned a lesson here that its not good to fight on national television especially when there's millions of children watching the show.

Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver: Gold and Silver gets a Makeover!

From the success of the Pokemon Gold and Silver Franchise for the Gameboy, the company gave it a makeover and stuffed it up with more awesome features that GB players will surely have a different feeling when playing this version. My prediction was right! I've always thought that this version will have its remake (considering that the previous versions had theirs as well).

Heartgold/Soulsilver retells the story of Johto and starts up in an area being New Bark Town, the overall plot follows the same direction as the original Gold and Silver.

Like FireRed and LeafGreen could link up with Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald to complete the Pokédex by trading regionally exclusive Pokémon, HeartGold and SoulSilver can link up with Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum to obtain Pokémon unavailable in Johto and Kanto, such as the Sinnoh starters.

Like the GBA Wireless Adapter that came with FireRed and LeafGreen, a bonus is included with the purchase of HeartGold and SoulSilver: a Poké Ball-shaped pedometer called the Pokéwalker that has the capacity to link to the two games and hold a Pokémon. Storing a Pokémon in this manner increases its experience and happiness as the wearer walks. Other Pokémon can be captured in exclusive Pokéwalker-only areas and then transferred to the main game.

There are so many changes from Gold and Silver (which can be found here) so I'll just put the good ones:

Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, Silver, and Red have animated battle sprites and battle intros, as in Platinum. Many Gyms have been redesigned as well, some with new puzzles.

Ambient sound effects are used with greater frequency than in previous games; for example, running water, blowing wind and the player walking through grass will produce audible noises.

All 493 Pokémon are capable of following players similar to Pikachu in Yellow. Shininess is also retained. The player can interact with their Pokémon by pressing 'A', and can see how their Pokémon is feeling at the moment. In battle, like Yellow's Pikachu, they are sent out from the side of the screen, rather than from a Poké Ball, unless in certain situations, such as while riding the bicycle, surfing, or going indoors with a large Pokémon.

A new sidequest, the Pokéathlon, features ten mini-games that pit Pokémon in athletic competitions. Its system appears to be analogous to that of Contests from previous games.

And of course you maybe asking if there's now a ROM of these games. The answer would be a yes! but I wouldn't post it in here. But you could inform me if you want to have a Working English ROM for HeartGold.

Well, I haven't watched the original Nightmare on Elm Street but news from the Net the original is better.

The remake does give that shock to everyone who would watch it at the point where you're most likely to be off-guard, but it's not really the kind of a horror movie that will keep you terrified for long or give you that fear-factor notable horror movies have (The Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.).

The plot is rather predictable. I mean you can point out who will die next, what will happen to this guy, what the ending will be and you'll say to yourself, "I knew it!".

Overall, if you like to have a bit of a scare on your day then give it a try for P150.

Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.

June 24, 2009 - Once again one of the most anticipated movies of this year hits the big screen! The Transformers dominated the Philippine shores as they return with a sequel that you shouldn’t want to miss!

I had invited my barkada to watch Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen at Trinoma yesterday and we had a blast! too bad some of my friends can’t come. And just as I expected, every Cinema on the Mall is all Transformers 2! Luckily we got there @ 12:30 so that we won’t compete with the massive movie mob and Transformers fans, even that at that time the line was pretty long.

The movie lasts for 150mins. (an hour and thirty minutes) and the ticket price costs for P170 (about $3.50), well to tell you the truth I’m not a Transformers fanatic (I haven’t watched the first Transformers movie yet, only on HBO I had) but nonetheless the P170 is worth it (well, because my friend will pay for half the price of our tickets =) )

Pure Solid, Action backed-up with outstanding Special Effects… Upon watching the movie I’m now a fan of Michael Bay and ILM’s visual effects wizardry. Stunning Effects of the Autobots and the Decepticons knocks you off your feet especially at the fight scene at the climax when the two forces clash and wage war on one another.

To sum it up: Transformers 2 is the right movie for any age, and I bet that this movie is a hard one to beat with It’s futuristic effects on high (I’m still waiting for Harry Potter 6 though). I recommend watching it with the gang just like what I did! and let Michael Bay amaze you with his masterpiece. ^^

My First Day at Senior Year in High School

whew! My first day at 4th year high school is not the one that was expecting it to be. It was a day like any other, with different visions on what might be in store for me this year. An the story goes like this…

JUNE 15 - I woke up at 5:00 early morning from a very bad sleep (because I got a bit excited about this day) but nevertheless jump out on my bed and hurried to the dining room to see my delicious breakfast – corned beef with egg and cheese. YUM! I can already feel that same old routine, which I’ll be doing again and again until this school year ends.

Ate breakfast, Bathe in cold morning water, brushed my teeth, waxed my hair, prepared my things… Check, check, check,check and check. with my allowance given to me and some little extra things to freshen me up I’m ready to go to school!. A perfect weather for a first day, not sunny and not raining. I walked along the tricycle station nearby and zoomed my way at our school which, did I mention, was only a walking distance from our house and I completely forgot about it that it was too late… WELCOME STUDENTS. Yippee! I’m on the school!

My room is at the 3rd floor. Section Judah. It was the first time that I didn’t bother asking who my classmates were because of our elective last year which was JOURNALISM so my classmates were still them with some slight changes on the line up.

whew! my room is nearly at the very end of the corridor, I feel excited with every step closer to my classroom…

Noisy.

Happy.

Crazy.

That’s what the room was like.

I saw my old school mates already talking about how they miss each other and what was their summer vacation like. Yes, good old times for everyone. I took my “Kapitan Sino” book that I bought at Powerbooks in Trinoma just to keep me busy whenever I get bored.

The time was 8:30 when our adviser came into our classroom to orient us at 4th year life. She is a Filipino teacher, humorous, not too strict, a fine teacher. She talked about her experiences in teaching at school and she also told us some funny stories which the class enjoyed very much!

All is doing good!…

But Too good to be true…

It was recess when we found out that 5 persons from our class must transfer to another section so that the number of students will be balanced an to satisfy the number of students per section, this surprised everyone and disliked it, there has to be another way to this problem, but alas somebody has got to go… While everyone was still stunned about the situation and no one likes to volunteer to leave the class. There is only one way left to solve this problem.

Qualifying test.

About JOURNALISM of course. And the bottom 5 that will be the lowest in the class will have to leave the classroom and transfer to the other section. Everybody was stunned about the exam, we must do our best to stay at the class. The test is divided into three categories:

COPYREADING
EDITORIAL WRITING
Subject – Verb Agreement

And it started today. June 16

So Ill just have to wait the results tomorrow to see if I made it on the class!

June 12, 1898 is the date when General Emilio Aguinaldo raised the Philippine Flag and proclaimed sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain (but June 4, 1898 was the date of declaration of independence from the United States).

Once again we commemorate another year of our country’s Freedom, Liberty and Independence. Let us continue to support our country, and celebrate this day in honor of the people who changed and fought for the Philippines in its battle for Independence. The movie is based on Greek Mythology. The Lamia was a Queen of Libya who became a Child-murdering Demon and distinguished as half-woman half-serpent, her name comes from the Greek word ‘lamios’ which means “gullet” since she devoured human children.

I watched the movie by myself (I admit I thought twice if I’m going to watch it alone but nevertheless xD) the movie is quite horrific and utterly brilliant, but not as I expected. It’s not a straight-horror movie but a horror-comedy one, it’s a mix of Suspense/horror with a pinch of comedy to fill in the gaps.

I was invited by my friend Edward to join this Social Network called Plurk. And I was like, What the hell is that about? Anyways, I said “Well, I got nothing to lose, so what the heck” I signed up on Plurk and this is what I have to say.

Plurk is Great! It’s very different from all the Social networking sites and Micro-Blogging site that I have seen because of its unique features that I really like, but before that what is Plurk?

WHAT IS PLURK?

Well according to the site:

Plurk is a site that allows you to showcase the event that make up your life in deliciously digestible chunks. Low in fat, 5 calories per serving, yet chock full of goodness

Yes, Plurk is actually a micro-blog, like the ever popular Twitter, that shows short updates about what you are doing right now or about your thoughts that you want to share.

Also according to the creators of the micro-blog, the etymology or meaning of the word PLURK is:

abbreviation of 'people' and 'lurk'
portmanteau of 'play' and 'work'
acronym of peace, love, unity, respect, and karma

A word with lots of meanings, cool huh! :)

INTERFACE/Features:

TIMELINE INTERFACE:

The interactive timeline interface shows recent '”Plurks” of your friends and the ones that you follow. The interface updates in real-time. If you manage to click the plurks on your timeline an IM box will appear so you can respond on their plurks and talk about a certain topic.

PLURK TEXTBOX:

This is what you use when you want to Plurk about something – a photo, link, video, you name it!. And Plurking is even easier with the use of Qualifiers - the yummy color coded words that you see above which are commonly used by our members to start plurks. They make it easy for you to identify different types of plurks visually. So you can easily tell what someone <feels>, or <thinks>, or <loves> or <was> doing.

Left 4 Dead 2 – Can you survive this?

No, you’re not looking at it wrong! The top-selling game of 2008 that rocked every Xbox 360s and PCs dead (or undead XD) has a sequel and I think this game is going to be better than its predecessor. With lots of features in store and new introduction to weapons.

I’m a big fan of zombies. And I’ve always wondered what would happen if a zombie invasion will start! That would be great right! (yeah, I don’t think so too. xD)

Moving on to L4D2.

Here’s the trailer of the game.

The sequel now introduces melee weapons in various and unusual kinds, hello Chainsaw!!. Have you tried smashing a zombie back to death with a frying pan? now you can!!

The game features new Survivors (what happened to Zoey, Bill, Francis and Louis?), new boss zombies, items and deeper cooperative game-play. Valve says the game is much larger than the Original L4D with more maps for survival mode, and Versus Campaigns.

The Release date is set for November 17, 2009 as an Xbox 360 and PC “exclusive”, Can’t wait!

I think the sequel is early for the game, and too early to change the survivors! I’m gonna miss the first survivors of the game. The names of the L4D2 survivors is still to come.

I guess they’re not going make new maps for the L4D1 because of the sequel, but no worries I expect to have better game-play and graphics than the original, well with that expectation I’m also going to expect higher System Requirements than L4D1 making it playable only for the rich ones. :) And if you’re thinking that I’m rich, I’ll tell you this I can’t even play the first L4D. hahaha

Aawww man! Summer’s over already? It’s like I haven’t felt the summer break! I still have many more sights to see and many posts to write! Oh well, you can’t control time right (…can you? xD). Here’s to another 9 months of studying, project-making, essay-writing, and another painstaking season, how cool is that! (…I know right? xD). Anyways, going back to school is the big thing right now (right next to Hayden Kho… just kidding xD).

Students and parents rush to nearby schools to enroll like a celebrity just popped out of nowhere (Yes, I know what is feels xD), malls are filled with notebooks, pens, pad papers, and other paraphernalia, friends spending the last days of summer by “texting-to-sawa” all night long… et cetera. et cetera. So are you ready for your first day? NOT YET? well better take your new panda pen and that sterling notebook and jot these tips to survive your first day!

I’m going to focus on the 3 important parts: YOUR THINGS. YOUR UNIFORM. YOURSELF.

MAKE A CHECKLIST – make a checklist to let you know what things to buy [ex. number of notebooks, book names and authors, plastic cover, art/construction papers for that color-coded notebooks, etc.] AND THAT IS WHAT I’M GOING TO DO HERE! :)

1 WEEK LEFT:

THINGS – As the saying goes “an early bird gets the worm” , or sort of, just be as early as you can if you’re going to buy your stuff, you’ll never know if the supply of those notebooks will last long, or that bag that you were planning to buy. But do consider the time the mall opens :)
UNIFORM – whether it’s RTW or pre-made, have enough number of uniforms to satisfy the weeks and months of schooling
YOURSELF – This is the time to relax! (well, despite the little pressures of all that buying and stuff) hey it’s your last week!

5 DAYS LEFT:

THINGS – Now that you’ve bought your supplies, make them your own by writing your name or personalize them with your artistic designs.
UNIFORM – Buy a patch at your school so that I can be stitched, washed, ironed and ready to go!
YOURSELF – Take care of yourself. Have proper hygiene (well you do this every time right?) so we can prevent those annoying last minute pimple breakouts, if you want (…and got the money…) you can visit your dermatologist for a check up so that your face will be in tip top shape when the big day arrives.

3 DAYS LEFT:

THINGS – Make sure everything's in place. Just double check everything to make sure
UNIFORM – Just leave it there in the closet, It’ll be fine! :)
YOURSELF – This day is perfect for any last body and hair fixes: Haircut, facial treatments (you’re rich!), rebondings, and whatever you girls do. xD

THE DAY BEFORE:

THINGS – Prepared and ready to bring
UNIFORM – Laid down on your bed ironed, pants/dress spiffy and clean, shoes polished, socks freshened. But don’t over do it, it’s not your wedding or anything. xD
YOURSELF – Eat well and sleep early ‘coz you’ll have a busy day tomorrow! :)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:

Well this is about YOURSELF now:
- Wake Up, breakfast, Take a bath, toothbrush, uniform, things and you’re ready to go to school! (haha, does this daily routine look familiar to you? Do you feel the school days now? xD)
- Greet everyone with a smile in your face – hey! you’ll never know when you will meet a friend. :)
- Find your room – of course you need to look for your home at school right?
- Meet up with friends – hey! for after 3 months you haven’t seen them! why not give them some quality talk about your vacation experiences or jut give them a visit at their rooms at recess. They’ll love it!
- Leave a (good) Mark – No, I’m not encouraging you to vandalize school property. Since this is the first time you’ll meet your teacher why not make your first impression a good one. As they say “First impression lasts”
- Get to know your teachers – Don’t always trust rumors to students think about “Mrs. Masungnit” get to know them yourself, you’ll never know maybe Mrs. Masungit will be your most favorite teacher this year!
- End the first day right – Make sure everything's alright when leaving the room, you don’t want to start a fight at the first day, would you?

No Boundaries - Kris Allen

To congratulate the winner of the American Idol season 8 winner, Kris Allen, I would like to invite you to listen to the last song that concluded the most watched season known to American Idol.

Kris Allen was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Kimberly (née Wood) and Neil Allen. He is the elder of two sons; his younger brother, Daniel, is a college cheerleader and a cheerleading coach. Allen was raised as a Christian. He was a worship leader at New Life Church in both Conway, Arkansas and Little Rock, Arkansas and has done missionary work around the world, including in Burma, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain and Thailand. Allen's interest in music began early.

He began playing the viola in elementary school and went on to play the instrument in the Mills University Studies High School orchestra, eventually winning a spot in the Arkansas all-state orchestra. Additionally, he taught himself to play the guitar at age 13, and also plays the piano and the ukulele.

Inside Look at SM North Edsa’s Newest Attractions – Sky Garden and The Annex

SM North is my favorite mall by far, maybe because this is my type and because I grew with it (kinalakihan ko na kasi) and it always keeps me company and I feel entertained when I’m taking a walk there or just to treat myself. After SM North’s installment of the building also known as “THE BLOCK”, which gave the mall its nickname, the expansion of the mall is just starting. With its newest attraction the SKY GARDEN – an elevated garden in front of the mall, and the SM ANNEX – the newest building that generally houses many technological stores and features.

I’m sorry for the dark clouds, it’s a rainy day when I shot the pictures below :D

TO THE SKY GARDEN!:

Because of the worldwide concern on Global Warming, Climate Change, Greenhouse Effect, etc. I think SM made a good decision of building a garden at the skies of the North Edsa. The Sky Garden at SM allows you to see for yourself the busy roads of Edsa while listening at the relaxing music that keeps the ambience balanced. Try to mingle and have a chat with your peers to the eateries and restaurants available at the vicinity, or sit down at coffee shops, get your laptop and enjoy the free WiFi at SM.

Professional photographers and amateur ones or someone who has a camera at their bags (just like me :D) can share the sights and sceneries that await them on their stroll at the long garden.

And It’s also filled with gorgeous plants and shallow ponds to give you that peaceful feeling you’ve been waiting for. Just watch your step okay. :D

It also has it’s own concert place called “Amphitheater” or simply “the Dome”

Next Stop. SM North Edsa’s Annex

The Annex is my kind of place! I like technology, gadgets, computers, internet, and other stuff! Have you heard that the Annex at SM North is home for the LARGEST CYBERZONE of all SM Malls, no wonder I like this place.

Technology is almost everywhere here! just look at the directories. Yep, they are touch-screen. want to find a particular store that might be at the Annex? Let the interactive directory point you the location

the Annex has some colorful stores and futuristic designs, did I mention It has amazing lighting patterns and lines?

What I like about the Annex is that it has all of your Computer tech. needs in one place. Gadgets, Computer games, PSP casings, Ipod covers, Bargain Computer parts, YOU NAME IT THEY HAVE IT! :D

They even have PS3 and XBOX 360 Rentals for P80 an Hour (if I’m not mistaken)

They also have a Bowling Alley at the ground level of the building so you bowling enthusiasts might want to check it out!

McDonalds’ Larger Fries hits Pinoy Stores

After a stroll at Tandang Sora Avenue a moment ago I went to the nearby McDonalds store to get myself a refreshment, a coke float specifically, and while waiting in line I saw poster that caught my eye…

The McDonalds there has a new size for their fries and it’s LARGER than its predecessor, and it is called “Large Fries” :) . Yep, from the looks of it i think it is really larger than ever, and you can get it for just P55 pesos (about a dollar). The pricing of the sizes of the Fries are as follows:

Large	P55	P10

*Medium is the ‘old’ large (but I think you know that already xD, just for the sake of formality)

For just P10 you can upsize your medium fries to a much larger one, pretty clever for McDonalds eh? well if your up for it, then you can buy it. What does this new size of fries tell us?Is McDonalds starting to experiment on the new size of their products to see if the “Pinoys will bite on the size increase”?

Well Pinoys like the rest of the world (maybe) likes to have the best deal on the list. “MORE Content, CHEAPER price” they will have more to eat in less the price and that way you save money if you compute it yourself.

However, there is always a consequence on that choice

From the looks of it I think, McDonalds will eventually upsize all of their foods in a matter of years, or maybe months here in the Philippines, maybe in a year or two you will see “SUPER SIZE” on the screen just like what they’re serving in the United States and Other Countries. What will this end up to? maybe just like the millions of Fast-food fans around the world who are now obese or over-weight because of too much intake of ‘Fats and Carbs’ in their system with the help of less exercise and a poor lifestyle, its the perfect ingredient of “fast weight gain”

It’s not bad to eat these foods, as the saying “MODERATION IS KEY” If Pinoys will take these foods moderately and live a healthy lifestyle, this will not pose a threat to the average weight of the Filipinos around the country. And one good thing about us Filipinos is around 87% of the Pinoys are weight conscious, if not higher (according to my statistics xD).

I’m not complaining about the fast-food stores around the world, hey it’s their way of earning money, it’s business what do you expect? I’m just giving you information about it and how you handle these situations and how you care about yourself is all up to you. : )

As big Hollywood blockbuster movies Invade the Philippine Cinemas, the movie industry of our country is competing with the giants to survive, and it will. According to recent statistics and graphs the release of foreign movies like: 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', 'Star Trek', and the highly anticipated 'Angels and Demons' gained popularity to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Comedy Films - "BFF" and "Ded na si Lolo" is enjoyed by millions of avid fans around the country. Considering that the movies are in the midst of the currently reigning Hollywood Movies, it was still recognised by many pinoys and some other foreign citizens, proving that the movie industry on our country is not only up-and-running, but also improving and-flourishing.

I watched the movie BFF (Best Friends Forever) - starring Sharon Cuneta and Ai Ai Delas Alas. The movie is really hilarious from the beginning uup tothe end of the movie. The cinema was crowded by many fans waiting for their Idol to show on the screen and the fact that everyone agrees with me as they, too ,laugh at the Mega Star and the Comedy Queen every time they crack a joke.

The Mega Star - Comedy Queen tandem? Priceless, unbeatable and down right funny . It was a certified Blockbuster hit in just a few days after its premiere and is being watched at 100 cinemas all over the country.

All people have some fears one way or another, like me who is afraid of the very mischievous COCKROACH and its bug cousins, and I think that its normal to have that whether it came from a really bad situation or you're born with that fear. But today I have compiled 15 very unusual phobias to be feared of and I think life would be very difficult for them.

Ablutophobia - a persistent and unwarranted fear of bathing, washing or cleaning. It is common on babies and kids and women who are believed to be very emotional.

This is what Manila is long been waiting for! The American Idol superstars, David Cook and David Archuleta is going to perform right here in Manila this May 16 at the (MOA) Mall Of Asia: Open Grounds, produced by Fearless productions. Sweet!

It is David Archuleta's first time to go here at the Philippines and David Cook is going to have another concert right here. They're is excited to see their Filipino fans, I think the Filipinos out there better buy their tickets now here and here and at any SM supermalls. Wow, how I wish to go there and see the two Davids on stage! but MOA is too far from where i'm living, oh well I guess I'll just havw to wait if ever SOMEONE out there invites me to go there and give me free tickets WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT IT MIGHT HAPPEN, right? .
BTW there's a live interview of David Archuleta right here if you want to check it out. He was asked about going to the Philippines and stuff.

The 39 Clues - Mystery-filled Book Series

I saw this book at 'National BookStore: SM North Edsa' and It caught my eye. The book is called "The 39 Clues" by Rick Riordan and it readily amazed me by its mystifying secrets, well i'm usually at the humor section but I like a little mystery at my book shelf. So I bought it for P495 and head straight back home to open the seal and found the 6 free cards included inside the book (it has a cool storage system of some sort for the card). And so I sat on our living room and thus the adventure of Dan and Amy Cahill starts.

It all started with Grace Cahill who changed her 'will' moments before he died. That was a big loss for Amy and Dan Cahill as Grace, their grandmother, is the only one who cared and loved the two. At the funeral, Family members are invited to hear about the 'will' including Amy and Dan. The reading of the will was only for the selected family members who got the invitation, it was read by Mr. McIntyre.

As the will was read Amy and Dan found out that the Cahill is one of the most powerful family in human history but the source of the wealth that will make the one who find it will be powerful is in the form of 39 Clues and they are given two choices - Take a MILLION DOLLARS and walk away or get the FIRST CLUE that will be your only inheritance? Amy and Dan took the clue - And together, they begin a very dangerous adenture.

PACMAN wins against Hatton!

Congratulations MANNY!

Pacquiao started the fight strongest, knocking down a sluggish Hatton twice in the first round. At the bell, Hatton seemed to have re-grouped, only to get knocked down for the third time 2:59 into the second round, awarding Pacquiao the win by T.K.O. "The battle of East and West" was finished in only less than 5 minutes! the crowd was filled with shock as the Pound-for-Pound Boxer of the world showed them the true meaning of boxing! The Philippines, a small country at the South East truly showed the world that he is not to be under-estimated.

With just TWO rounds, the battle most awaited battle of the season ended with a TKO! Amazing! I was left with shock as the radio said the result! (well the radio is the first to broadcast the fight before TV!). Some even paid thousands of pesos for the Tickets on the Malls and for the Pay-per-views! (including my dad who watched it on Trinoma! for P600 my friends!) they all said on the radio that it was 'Bitin' in English it was so fast that it was finished in a jiffy!

The sports analysts noted Manny Pacquiao as the Greatest fighter that ever lived! nice! Our National Anthem was once again heard all over the world thanks to Mr. Martin Rivera with the special participation of the Filipino-Romanian wrestler Batista, man! I'm proud to be a Filipino! wee! the reporters even don't know what to say but wow!

Manny Pacquiao even said that he was a bit nervous because of the Hatton supporters almost dominating the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
